Women's Volleyball recorded 4 wins of 3-0 for the week
The women's volleyball team had a great week, winning all four of their matches. Tuesday, they traveled to Lackawanna and won in 3 sets. Setter Shelby Hildebrand lead a balanced attack with 29 assists, Alyssa Kimmel had 13 kills and 10 service aces, Hannah Van Pelt had 9 kills, and Halie Johnson had 7 kills. Kara Starr led on the defensive side with 17 digs.
On Thursday, the Hawks had their first home match against Manor College. The Hawks won again in 3 sets. Kimmel and Johnson each had 6 kills. Hildebrand and Van Pelt had 9 and 7 assists respectively. Kimmel lead the defensive attack with 4 digs and Hildebrand, Starr, and Madi Miller each had 3 service aces.
On Saturday, the Hawks faced both Bucks County and Montgomery County in a tri-match. The Hawks came out on top with 3-0 wins against two very good opponents. Kara Starr lead the attack defensively with 12 digs against Bucks. Alyssa Kimmel and Halie Johnson also added to the defensive attack with 6 digs each. Kimmel had 12 service aces on the day, leading to valuable points for the Hawks. Shelby Hildebrand had 18 assists, leading the offensive attack for the Hawks. Kimmel, Johnson, and Van Pelt had 8, 7, and 6 kills, respectively.
In the second match on Saturday, the Hawks defeated Montgomery County in a great back and forth match. Kara Starr led the team defensively with 17 digs and Halie Johnson recorded 11 digs. Freysha Rivera also had 9 digs and Alyssa Kimmel had 8. The offensive attack was led by Shelby Hildebrand with 28 assists, Hannah Van Pelt had 11 kills and Kimmel recorded 9 kills. Starr and Johnson had 5 and 4 service aces respectively. The Hawks had a balanced attack for all their matches this past week. They look to continue to get better with every practice and match.
